19-year old Russian Maxim Sekretarev stood victorious in the 2021 World Poker Tour (WPT) Russia Main Event

Sekretarev battled through a field of 251 entrants to the #1 spot, and a win of $160,694 and will have his name etched on the Mike Sexton World Poker Tour Champions Cup, which pays tribute to the late poker player and host of the WPT for almost two-decades.
The WPT Russia’s no-limit hold’em main-event tournament had a buy-in of ₽245,000 (approximately $3,230 USD), and the amount won was the largest Sekretarev had won in his life online or live – in fact this was the Russian’s first ever live poker victory.

The final day began with one table and six-handed play. Sekretarev came to the table on day 3 with the largest stack (67 big blinds), with Ravil Khamatgareev on 58 big blinds to start and the remaining four competitors short with around 25 big blinds and went on to knock out all of his opponents less than four hours.
