The GUKPT pulled off one of the biggest poker tournaments outside of Las Vegas
Grosvenor Casino’s 10th anniversary Goliath X poker tournament in Coventry, England attracted a record-breaking turnout with 10,584 entries in total (single entries + re-entries combined) creating a total prize-pool of £1,270,080.
Part of the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) the main event finale of the series stop in Coventry is the one of the biggest live poker tournaments outside Vegas – with £200,000 guaranteed for the winner.
To create such a staggering prize-pool, the £130+£20 buy-in tournament had multiple day 1 flights (eight in total) with multiple re-entries possible on each day.

Despite having dozens of tournament tables running there was a long waiting list of players hoping to get in on the poker action with a chance at the top prize of £200,000 ($230,200).
GoliathX Winners & Payouts
The payouts were very top-heavy – with most of the meat paid out to those who make the final table. A min-cash was worth £300.
The winner of the trophy, £200,000 and bragging rights was Kyle Jeffrey.

Collecting £20 (20%) rake from each entry in the main event, the tournament organizers at Grosvenor poker generated a whopping £317,520 in revenue from the Goliath X tournament (as well as revenues from satellites, and the jam-packed cash-games during the multiple day tournament series). A highly successful tournament for the casino which collects more than first place money.
