Nevada’s COVID-19 Task Force has stated that hospitality workers (which includes casino workers and poker dealers) in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada could be up for vaccination in the next fortnight – a critical move to help reignite the Las-Vegas economy

According to Fox5Vegas, The Southern Nevada Health District stated that there won’t be separate sites or pop-up pods for hospitality workers – instead they will be directed to the mega-sites like the Las Vegas Convention Center or the Cashman Center.

The Culinary Union said it will advise workers when the time for vaccination comes how to proceed.

We’re seeing a palpable change in the enthusiasm in Las Vegas over the last three or four weeks. That’s tied for us to a reduction in the COVID cases and the increase in vaccine distribution

– MGM’s President of Entertainment and Sports George Kliavkoff

Nevada’s Southern Nevada Health District vaccination figures show that more than 469,000 have been administered. Nevada received a shipment of Johnson & Johnson vaccines on Wednesday.

Poker players around the world will be keeping an eye on the news, hopeful that the World Series of Poker will take place in a live-setting in some shape or form in 2021.
